Ingredients
- 2 lbs. fresh green beans
- 4 C chicken broth
- water as needed
- 3 slices bacon, chopped
- 6 fresh garlic cloves, minced
- 1 medium finely chopped yellow onion
- 1 tsp salt (add more if needed)
- 1 tsp black pepper

Instructions
- Prep ingredients: rinse and trim green bean ends, chop onion, mince garlic, chop bacon.
- In large stock pot or Dutch oven, add prepared green been and chicken broth (plus water as needed) to cover. Add bacon, garlic, and onion. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer until tender 10-15 minutes.
- Serve hot or prep ahead and reheat before serving.

My mother-in-love brought a huge pot o' southern green beans. We served this crowd-pleasing side with our Southern Christmas Dinner. Tasty. Reheats well. The kids love these!
